Overview

NovoTech Radio allows you to listen to internet radio stations from around the world. The main features of the app are:
- Time-shifting capabilities: rewind and fast-forward through buffered content. This is useful if you want to listen to a song again or if you did not clearly hear important information shared by a radio host.
- Volume control for audio from the app.
- Display artist and song information for supported radio stations.
- Station filtering by name, genre, language, and country. Regional filtering is also available for selected countries.
- Personalized favourites list for quick access to your preferred stations.
- Audio equalizer for personalized audio control.
- Set one or more alarms that will start playing a selected radio station once triggered.
- Cast radio station playback to a casting device like Android TV.
Pay special attention to the Settings section to understand the different options the app has to offer.
The main radio view shows a list of radio stations. Tap the Info button on a station item to view more information about the radio station. Tap the Favourite button
to add the station to your favourites. Tap on a station item to start playback.
It’s important to note that the app connects to the selected radio station’s server for streaming content and cannot control the quality of the audio. Some radio stations may play an audio advertisement when a connection is established. This is outside NovoTech’s control.
Settings
Tap the Menu button in the top-left corner of the app, then select Settings to open the Settings view.

Application Close Action. This setting allows you to choose whether the app should stop playing and close all services when you exit. Select 'Stop Service' to always close services when exiting, even if the radio is playing. Select 'Continue playing' if you want the playback service to continue when the app is closed. The 'Continue playing' option is recommended for low-specification phones, as Android might close the app to free resources while the radio is playing in locked mode.
Radio Buffer Size. Set the maximum amount of RAM (in MB) the app can use to store playback in memory.
Seek Interval. Set the number of seconds that the playback position must change when fast-forward or rewind is executed.
Enable playback seeking. Turn this switch on if you want the app to enable playback buffering with seeking capability.
Enable streaming in Foreground Service. Turn this switch on if you want the app to show a streaming notification in Android while radio data is being streamed. Android can stop or close any services it thinks are not being used. Enabling this option is important if you pause playback for a few minutes and want to resume from the same position.
Stop after paused for X minutes. The app will stop any streaming if it remains paused for the configured duration.
Radio Player
The Radio Player panel is located at the bottom of the Radio page. It displays the radio station name, playback status, seeking controls (if Enable playback seeking is enabled), volume control, equalizer control, and casting control. The current artist and song name will also be displayed next to the playback status if supported by the radio station.

If Enable playback seeking is enabled, the app stores audio in memory according to your configured buffer size. You can seek through any content currently stored in memory. If Enable streaming in Foreground Service is enabled, the app will start a streaming notification. Tap the Stop button on the notification to close it. This will stop streaming, but playback will continue until all buffered audio is finished.

Tap the Volume button to open the volume control panel. This only adjusts the app's audio volume.
Tap the Equalizer button to open the Equalizer dialog.
Tap the Cast button to cast to a remote device (e.g., Android TV). Ensure the remote device is on the same Wi-Fi network. It can take up to 20 seconds to connect. Playback will stop on the device once casting starts. To stop casting, tap the Cast button again and then tap STOP CASTING.
The Stop, Fast Forward, and Rewind buttons are visible if seeking is enabled. Tap the Stop button to stop playback and streaming. Tap Pause to pause playback while streaming continues. Use the Fast Forward and Rewind buttons to navigate through buffered content.
The Seekbar will be visible if seeking is enabled. Move the thumb to change the playback position within buffered content. The number of minutes and seconds behind live playback is shown to the left of the Seekbar; total buffered time is shown to the right.
Station Filtering
On the main Radio view, enter all or part of a station’s name in the 'Station Name' field to filter by name. Tap the Filter button to open additional filtering options.

The Filter dialog allows you to filter by name, country, region (for selected countries), language, and genre. Tap the Clear button to clear an individual filter. Tap the CLEAR button to clear all fields. Tap CLOSE to close the Filter dialog.

Active filters are displayed as chips on the main Radio view. Tap the Close button on a chip to remove that filter.
Audio Equalizer
Tap the Equalizer button to open the Equalizer dialog.

Tap the Enable switch to activate the Equalizer. Select a predefined preset or choose the Custom option and adjust the frequency values as preferred.
Favourites
Tap the Favourites switch to view your favourite stations. Tap the Edit Favourites button
to modify your favourites list.

Tap the Favourites button to remove a station from your list. Use the sort handle
to reorder your favourites. Tap the Done button
to save changes.
Alarms
Tap the Menu button, then select Alarms to view your configured radio alarms.

If one or more alarms are active, the time until the next alarm and the alarm’s date and time will be shown. Tap the Enable switch to enable or disable an alarm. Tap Delete to remove an alarm. Tap anywhere else on an alarm to edit it, or tap Add to create a new alarm.

In the Edit Alarm dialog, enter a name, select a radio station from your favourites list, set a time of day, choose active days, set starting and ending volumes, define a volume step, and set the maximum duration for the alarm playback. Tap SAVE to save your alarm.

To provide feedback, tap the Menu button, then select Feedback. You can submit your comments directly to NovoTech. Providing an email address is optional but recommended if you would like a response.
